Law Enforcement recruiting needs more support
Law enforcement is currently facing a crisis.
The ability for a medium sized department to hire new recruits has diminished more than 60 percent nationwide, according to research on June 25th, 2023. (Learn More)
Additional data received states that “Minorities remain underrepresented to varying degrees in the vast majority of larger police departments throughout the country. Particularly, in jurisdictions experiencing rapid demographic shifts, police largely DO NOT reflect the racial and ethnic makeup of their communities.” (Learn More)

Program Mission
To recruit, select, train, and empower high school graduating seniors to become the next generation of public safety officers through curriculum, development and mentorship. Ultimately, re-establishing a more accountable, transparent and compassionate relationship with the communities and public for which these new officers will serve.
Objectives
The objective of this program is to develop solutions that not only explores possible deficits within the recruitment strategy, but issues of diversity and community alignment/partnerships.

Strategically partner with the Hillsborough County School Board, City of Tampa and Hillsborough County Sheriff Department as program partners to ensure Operation: ACNB is a success (including community partners such as: fraternal, civic, religious and Pan Hellenic groups)

Identify financial opportunities that will assist in the recruitment of potential candidates

Create a curriculum that will incorporate the fundamental tenets of law enforcement with the addition of subjects that include Race Relations; Community Policing; Diversity, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Anger Management, Self-Esteem etc.

Improve community relations through a series of local partnerships and educational opportunities which will ultimately help in the rebuilding of trust, accountability and transparency between local police and the communities they serve
